The IWFA Scholarship Trust was established in 1965 to further one of our chartered objectives-the field of conservation helping deserving students attain graduate degrees in marine science at institutions offering such advanced courses. Funds are raised by contributions from the membership, memorials and fundraisers.

The program is administered by a Board of Trustees made up of IWFA Members who consider the following criteria in selecting recipients of any such scholarship:

The candidates must be matriculated at a recognized University and pursuing a course of study leading to a graduate degree in one of the marine sciences.  Only candidates approved as proper recipients for scholarship grants by the faculty of the University he or she is attending(or about to attend) shall be considered.  The personal qualifications for consideration shall include, but not be limited to, the character of the candidate; his or her previous academic accomplishments and ability as well as evidence of general aptitude in area of study.  The trustees also consider the candidate's relative need for the award when compared with other applicants.

Students interested in making application for the scholarship should address a request for application to the IWFA Scholarship Trustees, PO Box 21066, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33335-1066, or contact Glenda at kelleykeys@aol.com.

Funds to finance the scholarship shall come from IWFA monies and/or from contributions to the scholarship trust from IWFA members or other interested persons.  ALL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE and should be mailed to the IWFA Scholarship Trust, PO Box 21066, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33335-1066
