ISLAMORADA BACKCOUNTRY TOURNAMENT
October 6-9, 2024 

Mark your calendars and let's go fishing in beautiful Islamorada!  Get excited for the Islamorada Backcountry Tournament.  This year we will be awarding 2 GRAND CHAMPION GOLD DISCS - one for the top spin angler and one for the top fly angler!

We will be hosting the Islamorada Backcountry Tournament again this October out of the Safe Harbor Angler House Marina located at 80500 Overseas Hwy, Islamorada, FL  33036.  You may read more information about the Angler House Marina at https://shmarinas.com/locations/safe-harbor-angler-house/ .  The kickoff meeting and awards dinner will be held in the open-air pavilion at the Marina so plan on a very casual and very fun tournament.  

Registration fees for the event are $1900 and this amount includes the kickoff/captains' meeting to be held Sunday, October 6 at 5:30 pm at the Angler House, heavy appetizers included,  three (3) consecutive days of fishing starting Monday, October 7 - Wednesday, October 9 with two (2) anglers fishing per boat, and the Wednesday evening awards dinner at the Angler House.  Boats will depart the Marina at 7:00 a.m. with lines in once you clear the Marina basin and lines out will be at 2:30 p.m.  The tournament line will be 10# yellow Power Pro Hi Viz braid or 12# fly tippet.  Anglers will be responsible for their own travel, accommodations and all meals including breakfast, lunches on the boat, drinks and dinners for Monday and Tuesday.  You will have the option to pay the registration fee in two equal installments of $950 or you may pay in full.

This tournament of one of the Club's longest-standing tournaments and it's always a fun-filled event, fishing with friends and some of the best guides in the area.  You will want to be a part of fishing the backcountry of the beloved and beautiful waters of the Everglades National Park.  Targeted species for this event will include bonefish, snook, tarpon, permit, redfish, trout and numerous other fish. 

The format for this year's event will have both a Fly Division and Spin Division to include all anglers and you won't want to miss out.  You will have the option to select your Division when registering.  There will be space for 30 anglers to sign up so don't delay when it's time.  More information will be forthcoming as plans are being finalized.
